Providing personal information implies consent to publicly access the information registered users voluntarily provide in the LearningZen My Account section including but not limited to My Demographics and My Bio. Do not become a member of LearningZen if you are concerned about sharing personal information and having this information accessible to other registered users as outlined above, in the Terms of Use agreement or as it may become accessible if this policy changes to comply with industry standards and best practices.

Registration

User accounts are required to join LearningZen. Information required to create a new account includes a user name, password, email address, security question and answer to the security question. All information provided to LearningZen at registration or in the My Account section that does not personally identify you may be used for similar purposes and to the same extent as information that you voluntarily provide and that is not personally identifiable is permitted to be used as outlined below, including for serving text-based advertisements on the LearningZen public website. LearningZen does not allow pop-up or technically similar advertisements.

Customer Service

LearningZen may collect information that is posted on the website, included in reports related to security, included in requests for information about our community initiatives program and included in requests for information about careers and customer service in order to provide efficient and accurate customer service.

LearningZen uses cookies and web log files to track site usage. Creating an account and becoming a registered user assumes responsibility for any service fees for communications sent using a carrier with whom users have a land, mobile or other communication service contract or subscription including text messaging charges for messages to mobile devices.

Message content may include but is not limited to welcome emails, password reset notifications, updates regarding new features and functionality and proper functioning of your account. LearningZen will not send you promotional material at this time but reserves the right to modify this policy. Users retain the right to opt out of receiving promotional material. Registered user information shared with LearningZen or third-party business partners, including but not limited to course authors and publishers, with whom we may offer combined services now or in the future is also used to customize user experience on our website.

LearningZen allows registered users to share demographic, biographic and contact information with other registered users. This information is provided voluntarily and users may opt out by leaving these sections of My Account blank.

LearningZen retains the right to share aggregate registered user data stripped of all personally identifiable data elements with third parties regarding the use of our services including but not limited to potential advertisers for our public site. Aggregate data may be segmented by general user characteristics such as but not limited to job title, industry, geography or company. Forums, Chats and Blogs

Collaboration is a key component of the LearningZen experience and users may use the following tools including but not limited to blogs, site-wide and course-specific forums, course comments, course ratings and comments and author ratings and comments. Personal information that users provide using these tools can be read, collected, or used by other registered users of these tools and could be used to send you unsolicited messages depending on the information you voluntarily provide. Users assume all responsibility for providing personal information using these tools and acknowledge that LearningZen is not responsible, does not encourage and does not condone the decision to provide this information.

Testimonials Placed on the LearningZen Public Website

Testimonials about LearningZen may be used on the home page of the LearningZen public site to promote the value joining, to raise awareness among registered users of new functionality or to encourage registration for specific courses. Testimonials may contain general information including but not limited to job title, industry or course taken but will never reveal any personal information that can be used to identify the provider of the testimonial.

Communication with Other Users

Access to communication tools including but limited to forums and blogs is restricted to registered users. Communication using email to individuals outside the LearningZen network will show your email address and name. No additional personal information will be shared unless voluntarily disclosed by users in the email content.

Legal Disclaimer

LearningZen may be required by law to disclose personal information of registered users including but not limited to civil or criminal subpoenas. Personal information will only be disclosed when we have a good faith belief that it is necessary to comply with a court order, ongoing judicial proceeding, subpoena, or other legal process or request to LearningZen brought in any country throughout the world, or to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.

Disclosure to Others

LearningZen may be required to disclose personal information of registered users to other third parties in the event of company reorganization, merger or sale of LearningZen assets. Any third party that purchases LearningZen assets in whole or part secures the right to use personal and other information provided by registered users.

Closing an Account

LearningZen removes your name and other personal information from public view on our website when you close your account. Personal user data may be retain for a period of time to prevent fraud, future abuse, for aggregate data analysis as describe in this Privacy Policy, to recover accounts or as required by law. Complying with User Obligations

LearningZen seeks to create and maintain a positive and collaborative environment among registered users. This requires and obligates registered users to abide certain conditions as established by LearningZen in its Terms of Use and applicable law. User obligations include:
